11 files marked 'no further action' in historical abuse case

The Historical Abuse Enquiry: 11 files marked NFA

Following thorough police investigation, 11 files were prepared in relation to allegations of historic abuse and submitted to lawyers for advice about whether charges should be brought in any of these cases.

We have now received advice from the Attorney General that no further action should be brought in these specific matters and we have made the individual complainants aware of this decision.

It is stressed that enquiries into other allegations of historic abuse continue, and it would therefore not be appropriate at this stage to make any further comment in relation to these files.

Additionally, there are other files of evidence still being considered by the law officers department.
