Man charged in connection with historical abuse enquiry

FOLLOWING advice that has been received from the legal advisors acting on behalf of the law officers’ department, Police today (Friday 17 July) have charged a man in connection with the historical abuse enquiry.

Ronald George Thorne (71) of St Helier, Jersey, faces four charges of allegations relating to inciting acts of gross indecency with a boy, on four separate occasions.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 1983, and 1984. All the alleged offences relate to the same male child.

Mr Thorne will appear before the Magistrate on Friday 14 August at 2:30 pm to answer the charges.
