Male arrested in connection with alleged serious sexual assault

THE States of Jersey Police can confirm that a male was arrested in the early hours on this morning in St Helier, in connection with the serious sexual assault allegation reported to them yesterday. He remains in custody, and no further information will be given at this time.

The arrest follows yesterday’s assurance to the public that the SOJP treat all allegations of this nature very seriously and it can be confirmed that as a result of the arrest the SOJP are not looking for anyone else at this time. They would however still like to speak to any potential witnesses as described in yesterday’s release and will provide further updates later today.
