OFFICERS from the States of Jersey Police and the Honorary Police will be on patrol over Halloween to prevent disorder and anti-social behaviour.
Traditionally, the evening has been a busy time. However, on occasions, the behaviour of some young people during the evening of Halloween has caused concern to the public.
Officers from the Housing Department will also be working in partnership patrolling with Police officers in some areas in response to concerns raised by some tenants regarding the behaviour of young people.
Supt Shaun Du Val, head of operations for the States of Jersey Police said: ‘We recognise that Halloween is a fun night for young people. However, we would appeal to them to behave responsibly and to think about what their behaviour means to others.
‘We would also appeal to parents to take responsibility for the behaviour of their children, encouraging them to behave and act in a socially responsible manner.
‘It is our hope that the Police will not have to intervene. However, if we do receive complaints from the public or identify any anti-social behaviour during our patrols, we will take firm action.’
