Man charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 12:15 PM ON FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 2009

FOLLOWING a lengthy investigation by the Joint Financial Crimes Unit at the States of Jersey Police, in conjunction with the Law Officers’ Department, a man has been charged with the following offence:

Justin Peter Michel, (42) of Trinity, is charged with having between the 5th July 2001 and the 19th October 2007 in the Island of Jersey, attempting to pervert the course of public justice during the course of the criminal investigation of Peter Wilson Michel, his father.

Mr Justin Peter Michel will appear before the Magistrate this afternoon at 3 pm, (Friday 4 September) to answer the charge.
