Woman dies following glass roof fall

The States of Jersey Police can confirm that, shortly after 06:00 a.m. on Sunday 17th January 2010, following a call from a member of the public, officers, together with other emergency services, attended at a private address in St. Saviour to deal with a reported incident of two people having fallen through a glass roof.

The two people, a 29 year old man and a 22 year old woman were taken to the Jersey General Hospital for treatment to injuries incurred.

The 29 year old man has since been discharged however unfortunately the young woman has subsequently passed away from the injuries she received.

Enquiries are currently being carried out on behalf of the Deputy Viscount into the circumstances of this incident and a report will be presented to him in due course. The families of the two persons have been informed and at this time there is no other information available for release.
