Information for transferees from other Forces is posted below. Please read the information to ensure that you comply with Jersey housing laws and other criteria before you apply to join the States of Jersey Police from another Force.

INFORMATION FOR TRANSFEREES FROM OTHER FORCES

Serving Police officers in other Forces may wish to transfer to the States of Jersey Police. However, applicants from another Force MUST be eligible under the guidelines detailed below.

To be able to apply to join the States of Jersey Police you would have to qualify under the Regulation of Undertakings and Development Law definition of 'locally qualified'. This includes those:-

Residentially qualified persons falling within any of the Housing Regulations excluding Regulations (1) and (m);
Persons here for the last consecutive 5 years: (However for this position permission has been granted to consider persons here for the last consecutive 3 years:
The spouses of 1, or 2 above; (Please note that locally qualified status cannot be passed to unmarried partners, except in the case of J Category licences);
The children under 18 years (or if students under 25 years) of those in 1, 2, or 3 above.

However in addition to the special permission given in Clause 2 of the Regulation of Undertakings and Development Law allowing us to consider persons resident for 3 consecutive years; we were also granted a limited number of J Category Licences enabling us to recruit serving Police Constables.

We have now duly filled our quota. At this moment in time we do not envisage a repeat of this process.
